Jeff Harris 4,748 self-portraits

Photographer Jeff Harris has taken a self portrait every day since 1999. In the time since the project began Jeff has always taken time out in the day to take an image.
The pictures form a visual diary of his life over the past 12 and a half years.
The project forced him to actively seek new things to do in order to make his work more interesting.
This story is really inspiring for anyone who makes excuses for not taking pictures, which I am also guilty of. It also shows how photography can be used to help people through difficult circumstances.

Hope you enjoy the video and Jeff's website can be found here

Not your day pal

You won't have seen this film yet because it's still being edited, but when it sees the light of day you will be introduced to an amazing ensemble cast. This is the reality of how people would behave in a zombie apocalypse, you won't find anyone putting a bandana around their head loading up a ridiculous machine gun and going on a rampage. What you will see is a mismatched group fighting amongst themselves, some constantly on each others backs, others pushing their weight around as they embark on their journey to the last safe city.

If you would like to contribute towards the film Andy and Jake of Charmed Apocalypse pictures have set up an IndieGoGo page here.

Before you go, here are the finished and retouched scans of the awesome Mr Jim Sweeney who played Mac in the film. Some of his best lines (read in your best scottish accent)

"And you Doctor Badman, Are my Fucking Hero!"
"Not your day pal!"
"Showtime!"

Quickly Going Nowhere

To say i've been running around like a headless chicken of late would be an understatement. Not that i'm complaining, but the man flu I have been infected with has certainly put a dampener on things.

I have recently had the pleasure of jumping in to fill the shoes of the cinematographer on a short film titled Quickly Going Nowhere. The film is based around the concept of someone who is trying to make a career out of what they love, whilst simultaneously trying to exist day to day by having a nine to five job.
Based around true events from the life of London based rapper Brotherman (Thomas boord-James) the film acts as a showcase for his work and paints a picture of an artist struggling for recognition.
First time director Johnny Griffith has worked with a close group of creatives who are all in the same position as the central character. Everyone is working hard to be taken seriously and prove that they are passionate in what they do.

Off the back of the film Thomas and Johnny are setting up their own multi media company called King and Country and have secured a sponsor in the clothing company Dephect. Brotherman is also sponsored by Dephect.

Danger 5

Dario Russo and David Ashby, the creative auteurs behind Italian Spiderman have been working on a new web series titled Danger 5. The show is set in alternate timeline which combines World War II with the 1960's features a rag tag team of 5 spies charged with the task of stopping Adolf Hitler.
The trailer hit the web a month ago and already has over 300,000 views on youtube.
I am a huge fan of Italian Spiderman and can only hope that this series gains Russo, Ashby and their team the attention they so rightly deserve.

Enjoy!

120° of the dead

The Horizon Kompakt is a clockwork panoramic camera that shoots a 120° photograph by cocking the cameras shutter then releasing the mechanism. I was fortunate enough to have been given one of these cameras a few years ago when a friend of mine upgraded hers. They are similar in many ways to the Widelux although you don't have as much control over your images as the Widelux offers.

I had always been aware of Jeff Bridges work shooting with a Widelux on every film set he has worked on and wanted to try something similar. Being on the set of Resurrection was my opportunity to put the camera to good use. I still have more films to develop and one in the camera to finish off which  will upload once they are ready to scan.

See Jeff Bridges amazing work here.

Thanks for tuning in!

Mr Jim Sweeney

During the last week of filming we would sit for up to two hours a day waiting for the torrential rain to stop. So whilst drinking tea and eating my way through a mountain of baguettes I took some shots of the cast and crew enjoying the down time.

All images in this post were taken using a Bronica ETRSI medium format camera.

If you go down in the woods...

So, for week four we were shooting in the woods which meant being at the mercy of the british weather.
There were a few mornings where we would arrive on set only to sit undercover for two hours waiting for the rain to stop, it was a good opportunity to slowly wake up and grab a few shots of cast and crew before heading down the hill into the woods. I had been taking my polaroid to set since day one but now we were outside I had the opportunity to use it. I shot approx two and a half boxes of film. I would have shot more but it's pretty steeply priced.
